THIS ARTICLE DETAILS advantages of using systematic reviews (ie, meta-analyses) to determine evidence-based best practices. A NUMBER OF SYSTEMATIC REVIEWS relevant to the OR and produced under the auspices of the Cochrane Collaboration are explored with the aim of encouraging perioperative nurses to become familiar with, if not part of, the process of systematic review development.
