This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Beliefs about Emotions Scale (BES) in the general population. Material and methods: For this purpose, 558 (first study) and 120 (second study) subjects from a normal population were selected, then BES, Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS), Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS), Affect Intensity Measure (AIM), and Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) questionnaires were distributed among them to respond. After collecting data, the reliability of the inventory was assessed by Cronbach's , retest, and split-half coefficient, then the criterion validity with other questionnaires was assessed to determine the psychometric properties of the BES. The factor structure was assessed by confirmatory factor analysis.
