During research on heat and moisture production of broilers, growth rates typical of commercial mixed sexed broilers were obtained during brooding and during grow-out at three temperatures. The nonlinear equation for growth rate during brooding was: W=.04+6.9 1D×10−3+1.27D2×10−4+2.04D3×10−5where D is chick age in days and W is weight in kilograms. The growth rate during the 4 to 7-week grow-out period was linear for all three temperatures tested.
