Mixtures of catechols, guaiacois, and other phenols were resolved by gas chromatography on columns that used Apiezon L, Apiezon N, or polyphenyl ether liquid phases. Conversion of these compounds to their trimethylsilyl ethers minimized their adsorption on these columns and permitted their quantitative analysis on the Apiezon N column.
