Elevated NPAR linked to ~37% higher all-cause mortality in patients with MASLD.
Why the study?
Do elevated levels of NPAR, NLR, and SII predict all-cause and CVD mortality in patients with MASLD?

Elevated NPAR and NLR are significant predictors of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in patients with metabolic dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease.
Dong et al. (2024) conducted a cohort in Metabolic dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) (n=3,970). Neutrophil percentage-to-albumin ratio (NPAR) vs. NPAR below the inflection point was evaluated on All-cause mortality (HR 1.37, 95% CI 1.01-1.86, p=<0.05). In patients with MASLD, NPAR above the inflection point was associated with higher all-cause mortality (HR 1.37; 95% CI 1.01-1.86) and CVD mortality (HR 2.03; 95% CI 1.24-3.32).
