In a previous paper (Lawson, 1956) an attempt was made to give a general picture of zonation on the coast of Ghana based on the results of an extensive survey. The present paper deals with an intensive study of a very small part of the coastline, in fact with the zonation on one particular reef. Rocks at Christiansborg were chosen for this study partly because they were readily accessible; partly because they were subject to an intermediate degree of wave action, being neither very exposed nor very sheltered and therefore representing something like average conditions for plant and animal life.
