Recent measurements on the diffuse and Bragg scattering of neutrons from a polycrystalline sample of a Kr0.9-Ar0.1 binary alloy indicate the presence of argon microclusters dissolved in a krypton-rich matrix, contradicting previous indications that argon and krypton are soluble in all proportions. On the other hand, measurements on a Ar0.9-Kr0.1 sample are consistent with the picture of an ideal solid solution.
