Case series reports diverse posterior segment inflammatory presentations of presumed ocular tuberculosis, highlighting the necessity of clinical suspicion for timely diagnosis.
Ocular tuberculosis (OTB) is an unsual extrapulmonary manifestation which can affect almost every ocular structure making its clinical diagnosis challenging. Presumed ocular tuberculosis is diagnosed based upon a specific and compatible ocular finding, supportive investigations and favourable response to anti-tubercular treatment. We hereby present two cases of OTB which presented with posterior segment inflammation inform of posterior scleritis in a young as first case and choroidal mass in an elderly as second case. This report highlights a need for clinical suspicion and multidisciplinary approach during management of these rare cases.
