Experimental measurements in an argon arc are made of the densities of electronic and some excited levels. A BKM model is used to calculate these densities. Departures from complete LTF are shown for electronic densities below 2*10 16 cm -3 . The comparison between calculated and measured radial densities of the metastable level allows the determination of the radial distribution of the electronic temperature.
