The spin polarisation and differential cross section of unpolarised electrons elastically scattered from Xe atoms in the energy range 25-300 eV have been calculated fully relativistically for several local density approximations of the effective single-particle potential, starting from a relativistic Hartree-Fock electron density of the target. Comparison with experimental data shows that good overall agreement below 100 eV is also obtained by using an energy-dependent local exchange potential.
