An oscillation viscometer, interfaced to an on‐line minicomputer for measurement of the viscosity of low‐viscous hygroscopic melts up to 1200°C, is described. The paper gives a discussion of changes in experimental technique facilitated by use of the computer, and the resulting improvements in the viscometer performance.
