Limitations

  • All cases were adult patients, limiting understanding of pathogenesis in children/infants
  • Most patients were examined for coronary artery disease, disrupting homogeneity of the population
  • Cases with atrial fibrillation were excluded
  • Small-diameter atrial accessory structures are difficult to differentiate from atrial diverticula
  • In vivo study, making it impossible to determine pathological correlations
