The excluded volume parameter B for poly(N‐1,1‐dimethyl‐3‐oxobutylacrylamide) in 2‐butanone at 25°C is evaluated either from limiting viscosity numbers or from second virial coefficients as obtained in light scattering measurements, and also through a procedure in which both kinds of experimental data are simultaneously employed. The values so obtained are in reasonable agreement, except for the one evaluated by applying the original Stockmayer‐Fixman equation, which is largely underestimated as already found for other polymer‐solvent systems.
