Absolute elastic differential cross sections for electrons scattered from cadmium vapour at incident electron energies of 60, 75, 85, 100 and 150 eV and scattering angles of 10-70' have been measured. The generalised oscillator strength of the transition 5 1 P to 5 1 S was used to place the elastic cross sections on an absolute scale. No calculations of elastic differential cross sections are available for cadmium.
