Plant cells were stained for peroxidase by exposing them to a mixture of p‐phenylene diamine and hydrogen peroxide. Peroxidase activity is shown to be associated with chromosomes, nucleoli, cell walls and cytoplasm. Possible physiological roles of peroxidase bound to different structures are discussed.
