Numerical and analytical procedures for the calculation of exchange integrals with Slater-type orbitals are reviewed and checked. Algorithms for improving the calculation of the auxiliary functions employed in both kinds of procedures are introduced and their efficient implementation is discussed. Finally, the numerical behavior of these procedures is analyzed paying special attention to their accuracy thresholds and computational cost.
