On the equivalence of the theories of liquid metals due to Ashcroft and Schaich and to Gyorffy

The equivalence of the theories of liquid metals due to Ashcroft and Schaich (1970) and to Gyorffy (1970) is demonstrated by using a special form of the optical theorem. It is pointed out that by using this theorem it is possible to extend other CPA-like theories of liquid metals to the calculation of the electric resistivity.
