A numerical study is made in order to investigate the empirical relationship between the coefficient of magnetic viscosity S and the irreversible susceptibility of a fine particle system. The temperature variation of S is also investigated. It is found that recent experiments on recording media cannot be explained for a non-interacting system. The introduction of dipolar interactions is shown to give much better agreement with experimental data.
