Effects of the crystalline electric field on the amorphous alloys of light rare-earth ions are briefly discussed. Magnetic susceptibility and magnetisation of Pr 21 Ag 79 and Nd 21 Ag 79 alloys are explained in terms of the non-axial crystal-field model.
