Knowledge of the quality of the X-ray beam from a beryllium window tube operated at low kilovoltages is of interest both to the clinical radiologist, who uses such beams for superficial therapy, and to the scientist who may wish to take advantage of either the high intensity or long wavelengths of such beams. The spectral doserate distribution in the X-ray beam can be computed from the filtration data by a method using Laplace transforms (1). The results of such computations for the X-ray beam from a beryllium window tube operated at 50 kvp are given in this paper. EXPERIMENTAL METHOD
