The resistivity of various liquid transition metals as a function of temperature (p(T)) has been measured by a number of groups and typically r = (∂ρ/∂T)p/ρ∼10−4K−1. In this paper we present a compilation of data and we show how this kind of value may be obtained as a result of thermal expansion alone. We also present arguments to explain why the variation of resistivity with temperature, at constant volume, may be small.
