The measured Debye temperatures of nickel–platinum alloys over the whole range of concentrations are transformed into Young's modulus values showing a ΔE effect of about 60% at the critical concentration for ferromagnetism. The result is discussed semi-quantitatively and reference is made to other magnetic materials (Fe–Ni Invars, Fe3Pt Invar, Pd).
