Experimental results have demonstrated that the optical properties of clean liquid aluminum resemble those of the solid. This paper demonstrates that the optical properties are accurately described by the Ashcroft-Sturm model. The Ashcroft-Sturm parameters that fit the optical property results indicate a large relaxation time for both the free-carrier and parallel-band absorptions.
