An investigation of the biology of the Cliff Swallow (Petrcrchelidon pyrhoflota) was conducted in California from 1949 through 1956.The most extensive work was done in 1950, 1952, 1953, and 1954.As these birds are present in this area only in the nesting season, the work necessarily has been limited to this period of the life cycle.Circumstances have arisen which necessitate the discontinuance of the investigation along the lines previously used. Therefore, it seems advisable to report the general findings of the study at this time.
