In recent years, natural fiber composites have attracted attention as a potential structural material. This study evaluates the effective elastic properties of sisal fiber-reinforced polystyrene composites analytically and numerically using a numerical homogenization approach. The experimental result obtained was compared with the phenomenological models and finite element analysis predictions. The study indicates that the effective elastic properties of sisal fiber-reinforced polystyrene composites are affected by parameters such as fiber loading, cross-sectional area and RVE.
