Immunologic factors have been considered to play an important rôle in the pathogenesis of, or recovery from, many of the diseases in which cortisone and ACTH have exerted apparently beneficial effects. Because adrenal hormones have been implicated in immunologic processes,9, 10attempts have been made to explain the effects of cortisone and ACTH in terms of immunologic mechanisms. However, it is obviously difficult to study the effects of ACTH on immunologic...Bibliography1. CecilBaldwinLarsen RLHSNP: Lobar pneumonia.
