It is shown that urea and carbamoyl (urethane) groups in derivatives of 2,4‐tolylenediisocyanate (1) can be differentiated by their chemical shifts when the NMR measurements are carried out in N,N‐dimethylacetamide (DMA) which contains lithium chloride. This method can further be applied to the analysis of linear polyurethane prepolymers prepared from α‐(hydroxytetramethylene)‐ω‐hydroxypoly(oxytetramethylene) (2) and 1.
