Farm tractor safety and health education programs for adults have often assumed arelatively homogenous population. Our prior research findings suggest significantdifferences exist among young adults, middle-aged adults, and aged farm tractoroperators in their formal education, years of experience, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviorsregarding tractor safety issues and physical fitness to use farm tractors safely. Theauthors suggest that it is important to consider these differences and to encourageactive participation by tractor operators in program development, implementation, andevaluation to enhance the success and effectiveness of programs.
