Mixed ligand complexes M (3alox) (NNph) [M [dbnd] VO (IV), Nn (II), Co (II), Ni (II), Cu (II) and Zn(II), SaloxH [dbnd] salicylaldoxime, NNphH [dbnd] 1-nitroso-2-naphthol] and their bis-pyridine adducts have been synthesized for the first time and characterised by molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, electronic, ESR and IR spectral measurements. Magnetic and spectroscopic studies suggest an octahedral environment around the metal ions in all the complexes. The ESR spectra indicates monomeric behaviour of copper (II) and vanadyl (IV) complexes in chloroform solution, M → L charge transfer and Jahn-Teller distortion.
