The photoionization cross section of Mg-like Fe XV is calculated from the first ionization threshold to 700 Ryd using the R -matrix method. The detailed structure and resonances of the cross section across the L- and K-shell thresholds is described. These resonances are shown to enhance the photoionization rate of Fe XV by up to several factors, when illuminated by an x-ray flux.
