The periods of the de Haas-Shubnikov oscillations in the magnetoresistance of arsenic single crystals were measured at 4.2^∘{}K as a function of magnetic-field orientation in each of the three principal crystal-lographic planes. An improved ac detection technique was employed. The results are in good agreement with those of earlier studies except that the long-period oscillations were not observed. A new set of periods is reported whose interpretation requires less distortion of Lin and Falicov's Fermi surface than was earlier thought necessary.
