The quantum defect orbital (QDO) method and its relativistic (RQDO) counterpart have been applied to the calculation of oscillator strengths for the 3 s 2 S → 3 p 2 P o , 3 p 2 P o → 3 d 2 D , 3 d 2 D → 4 f 2 F o , and 3 d 2 D → 5 f 2 F o transitions in sodium-like atoms. The consequences of including relativistic effects are demonstrated.
