A method is outlined whereby the National Bureau of Standards radiosonde, in a modified form, is applied to the measurement of the earth's potential gradient. This paper describes the modification of the sonde circuit to measure the point-discharge current produced by a gradient and the result of a typical sounding of a cumulo-nimbus cloud.
