In the X‐ray‐induced emission spectrum of solid neon excitonic lines are found at 744.2, 741.8, 738, and 733 Å, and broad peaks at 770 and 890 Å of unrelaxed Ne*2 molecules which arebelieved to originate only from exciton relaxation. We also observed a peculiarly strong temperature dependence of the emission intensity which can becaused by changes in the crystal structure that influence the exciton formation.
