Computer-aided predictability software programs for radial keratotomy may be useful for planning the procedure. A number of programs are available, all taking different approaches regarding the parameters used and the predictability achieved. In this report, we evaluate the two programs (DRS and AMark) that can be retrospectively compared, using three sets of independent data. We also evaluate the DRS formula alone, using two series of patients, one with and one without use of the formula. We conclude that both the DRS and AMark formulas are useful aids for improving radial keratotomy accuracy and predictability.
