Reduced Rydberg—Klein—Rees—Vanderslice potential curves were approximated by the reduced Hulburt—Hirschfelder function for a series of diatomic molecules to obtain a qualitative test on the behavior of the ground-state reduced potential curves. The results seem to confirm unequivocally that the regularities previously observed in studying reduced potential curves are of general validity. Possible applications of the reduced-potential-curve method are briefly outlined.
