For pt.II, see ibid., vol.17, p.4201 (1984b). Measured absolute cross sections for electron capture into the H(2s) subshell in H + -Li(2s) collisions at impact energies from 2 to 20 keV are presented and compared with available theoretical results, showing agreement within experimental errors. When summing up these and earlier measured cross sections for electron capture into H(2p) and H(3,l) subshells, consistency with directly determined total electron capture cross sections is found.
