A sequential model for the fragmentation of a quark into hadrons is constructed with the property that a net charge $2$ "leaks" down the multiperipheral chain. Specifically, for a process initially producing a quark, 2=1/3(1-r)(2+r), where r is the ratio of directly produced K^± to π^± in the quark fragmentation plateau. This expression corrects an earlier one in which the consequences of such a model were misstated.
