The base‐catalyzed Michael‐type addition of dithiols onto activated diacrylates and dimethacrylates proceeds quantitatively and leads to products with anti‐Markovnikov orientation of the addition. This reaction was used to prepare telechelics using non‐stoichiometric ratios of monomers. The acid‐catalyzed addition of dithiols onto divinyl ethers also yields polymers and telechelics, however, these products show Markovnikov orientation of the addition.
