A porphyrin covalently appended monolayer film on a glass substrate prepared by axial coordination reaction of protoporphyrin IX zinc (ZnPP) and a self-assembled monolayer of (3-aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane on a glass surface was reported. The structure and stability of the porphyrin film to photo reaction, acid, and base and its reactivity with imidazole were investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and UV−visible spectroscopy.
