The directional coupling of magnetostatic surface waves propagating in a layered structure where two YIG films are located in parallel with a small gap between them are theoretically investigated. Due to strong dispersion of magnetostatic surface waves, this directional coupler shows frequency filtering and frequency demultiplexing characteristics which can be tuned by an applied magnetic field.
