Using the linear muffin-tin-orbital method, we have calculated the electronic structure of the $3d$ hcp transition-metal Ti. Our Fermi surface is in good agreement with the recent de Haas-van Alphen experiments of Kamm and Anderson, and a quantitative comparison indicates that the calculated d band lies less than about 10 mRy too high relative to the sp bands. Magnetic breakdown plays an essential part in the interpretation of the experimental results. We also compare our results with previous calculations on Ti.
