By generalizing the form of the thermal-state condition, the formalism of thermo field dynamics in the renormalized interaction representation is generalized to include both the equilibrium and nonequilibrium situations. It is shown how the dissipative effect arises naturally through the self-consistent renormalization, which is frequently dependent on time.
