Some 150 hyperfine transitions belonging to the 808→717 and 919→100,10 rotational transitions of 14N16O17O have been observed in the microwave region. The new coupling constants which have been determined are the odd-electron expectation values on oxygen. They are |ψ(0) |2=0.71×1024 cm−3,〈(3r̂a2−1)/r3〉=−4.71×1024 cm−3,and 〈(r̂b−ic^)2/r3〉=5.04×1024 cm−3.The results of the work are combined with previous work on other isotopic modifications of NO2 to give an LCAO MO picture of the odd-electron orbital.
