We show from existing data that the electrical conductivity σ of Fe3O4 in the range Tv≳T≳Tv/2 can be described by log σ∝T. To check whether this behavior is more widespread, we have made new measurements of the conductance G(T) in Fe3O4 (40–340 K), Ti3O5 (64–364 K), and Ti4O7 (80–272 K). The log σ∝T behavior is most striking for Ti4O7. We refer to a mechanism that can account for the behavior in terms of incoherent electron tunneling between cation sites.
