Polarization micro-Raman spectroscopy (PMRS)shows that the spatial organization of bridge-bonded ethane, ethene, thiophene, and benzene groups housed “inside” the channel walls of oriented periodic mesoporous organosilica film (OPMOF) is random, endowing the structure with “crystalline porosity” at the mesoscale and a “glassy” organosilica framework at the microscale. The Figure shows an image of an oriented mesoporous thiophene–silica film.
