A case of acinic cell carcinoma of the parotid salivary gland was studied with the electron microscope. The tumor cells showed electron-dense inclusions which were similar to those seen in normal parotid and submaxillary salivary glands, and which were interpreted as zymogen granules. It is concluded that, on the basis of these ultrastructural observations, the acinic cell carcinoma is truly derived from the terminal secretory apparatus.
