The seeds of this sub‐family have a very low content fixed oils, which are highly coloured and contain a high proportion of msaponifiable matter. In moat canon the mixed fatty acids contain about 30% of suturated acids, the balance being a mixture of oleic and linoleie acids, the amounts of the two hitter varying with the species. In all cases, fatty acids of high molecular weight were shown to lie present, a fact that appears to be a characteristic of the entire Legmninoste family.
