Huang Diffuse Scattering from Dislocation Loops

Numerical diffuse scattering calculations are carried out for interstitial dislocation loops on {111} planes in aluminum using numerical displacement fields calculated for an elastically isotropic medium. Calculations are performed along selected directions near the (400), (200), (220), and (222) reciprocal lattice points. The results are found to be in qualitative agreement with the predictions of analytical diffuse scattering models; however, for quantitative results, detailed numerical calculations are found to be necessary.
