Diffusion coefficients have been obtained for binary mixtures of paraffin hydrocarbons and for mixtures of paraffin hydrocarbons with benzene using a diaphragm cell. The results have been tested by the equations of Arnold, of Stokes and Einstein, and of Stearn, Irish, and Eyring. Of these only the semi-empirical relationship of Arnold gives satisfactory agreement with experiment.
